Minister officially opens Constituency Office

Minister of State Kathleen Lynch officially opened my constituency office on Monday June 27th.

I was delighted that Minister Lynch took time out of her busy schedule to formally declare the office open, which is located in the Market Square in Dunmanway, open. I was also delighted to see so many friends and supporters turn out for the event. Former TD Billy Murphy and Sneator Michael Callinan were also present.

Prior to the opening, Minister Lynch and I paid a visit to Dunmanway Day Care Centre and the nearby Dunmanway Hospital. Minister Lynch, who has responsibility for older people, disability, equality and mental health, was greeted at both places by patients and members of staff, before being taken on a brief tour of the facilities.

At the Day Care Centre, the Minister was treated to a song and some poetry by visitors, who also presented her with a specially-made book of songs.

Overall, it was a special day for my supporters, my family and my friends, and for the local Labour Party. The office is the culmination of the hard work and tenacity of many local people, and I am proud that Minister Lynch was there to officiate the important affair for us.

Speaking at the event, Minister Lynch said she was confident the office would provide a good service to local people seeking advice and wished us well in the years ahead.
